Dynatec is looking for more talented people, and we are currently seeking a service technician who wants to become a specialist in advanced bakery and packaging machinery.
We have recruited service technicians before, using personas such as Inspector Gadget, “Petter Smart” and “Reodor Felgen”. It actually worked pretty well, so we’re giving it another go.
In this role, you will spend a lot of time at our customers’ sites in Norway and Sweden. In other words, there will be plenty of travel. Sometimes because machines require scheduled maintenance. Other times because something has stopped working and the customer would really like to have it up and running again. Preferably yesterday.
About us
Dynatec is one of Scandinavia’s most innovative companies within automation, delivering automation solutions and production machinery to industries in both Norway and Sweden. Dynatec develops and manufactures its own equipment.
We also distribute machines and equipment from suppliers in several countries, either as standalone machines or as integrated components of complete production lines.
Our product areas include factory planning, robotic solutions, dosing systems, ovens, cooling and freezing solutions, packaging, product inspection, conveyor systems, palletizing, industrial washing machines, service and spare parts. Dynatec AS is part of Dynatec Group, which has around 160 employees and annual revenues of approximately NOK 500 million. Dynatec has a solid and stable financial position and is a family-owned company characterized by strong technical expertise, innovation and a long-term perspective.
The role
As a service technician, you will work primarily with bakery and packaging machinery, including equipment from König and Hartmann. These are high-end production systems where precision, correct setup and proper maintenance are essential for both product quality and uptime.
The job is therefore about more than just simply repairing machines. You need to understand what the machine does, how it fits into the production process, and why the end result sometimes isn’t quite what it should be.
Your main responsibilities
You will spend much of your time at customer sites, working with:
- Scheduled service and maintenance
- Troubleshooting and emergency repairs
- Measurement, inspection and adjustment
- Upgrades to machines and components
- Technical documentation and service reports
- Advising customers on maintenance and reliable operation
A good service technician doesn’t just repair what has already broken down. You identify what is likely to happen next and help the customer before production comes to a halt.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a professional with a background in automation, electrical engineering or mechanics. A trade certificate is an advantage, but technical college, an engineering degree or other relevant qualifications may also be suitable.
We expect you to have:
- Experience with servicing or maintaining machinery
- Strong technical and mechanical understanding
- An understanding of production processes
- The ability to measure, troubleshoot and work systematically
- Good spoken and written Norwegian and technical English
- A valid Class B driving licence
Experience with bakery equipment, packaging machinery or food production is an advantage.
How you work
You are technically curious and enjoy figuring out why things work – and why they suddenly stop working. You are comfortable making independent decisions, communicate well with customers and remain calm when something needs to be fixed quickly.
You enjoy being on the road and are comfortable being away from home for several nights each week. This is not an office job with the occasional customer visit – quite the opposite.
What we offer
You will work with some of the best production equipment on the market and have the opportunity to develop into a specialist in these machines. We invest in training and product expertise, and you will become part of an experienced technical team.
You will receive a competitive salary, pension and insurance – we can talk about all that during the first interview. The overall package is good. You will have a company service vehicle, which can be used privately in accordance with applicable regulations, and we expect you to be legally entitled to drive it.
You will also get
A permanent position in a stable and growing company, a high degree of freedom in your daily work, and a job where the results are easy to see: When you do your job well, the machines run, production keeps moving and the customer is happy.
Interested? We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
